Preschool Classes
We have three classes:
2s (10 students; 2 teachers) – 2 days/week, 9:30-12:30, T, Th
3s (15 students; 2 teachers) – 3 days/week, 9:30-12:30, T, W, Th
4s (15 students; 2 teachers) – 4 days/week, 9:30-12:30, M-Th
Schedule
We follow the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) calendar. We run from the Tuesday after Labor Day to the middle of June.
Day-to-day
3s and 4s students must be day-time potty trained.
Lunch Bunch/Enrichment 12:30-2 for 3s and 4s students.
Preschool Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to promote a child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
Specific curriculum goals include:
Developing the child's ability to share and work cooperatively with others.
Increasing the child's ability to follow directions and to listen in a sustained manner.
Building positive self-esteem.
Providing learning at the child's individual level.
Helping the child find acceptable outlets for emotions.
Building positive feelings about school.
Fostering a love of learning.
Classroom routine is play-based, exploration-focused, and carefully balanced to provide for individual differences and needs and to foster a love of learning within each student.

Friendship Preschool is licensed by the state of Virginia as a child day center. As such, it is inspected twice annually by a state inspector. It is also permitted and inspected annually by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and holds a Residential Use Permit issued subject to the requirements of the County of Fairfax.
