What are Friendship Preschool’s age restrictions?

Children must be 2, 3, or 4 years old by September 30. Age requirements are firm.

What is the teacher : student ratio for each class?

  • 2s class = 2 teachers: 10 students

  • 3s class = 2 teachers: 15 students

  • 4s class = 2 teachers: 15 students

What is the school’s potty training policy?

Children in the 2-year-old class are not required to be potty trained. Children in the 3s class must be daytime potty trained (no pull-ups or diapers) before attending class in September.

What are typical tuition/fees?

When is tuition due?

Tuition checks should be made payable to “Friendship Preschool” and are due monthly on the 1st of each month. A late payment fee may be applied if tuition is paid after the 5th. Friendship Preschool does not accept credit cards.

What is Friendship Preschool’s admissions policy?

Friendship Preschool is a non-profit organization operated under the guidance of Friendship United Methodist Church. Children of all faiths are welcomed. Current and former students, siblings, and Friendship UMC members receive priority placement. New family applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis after all priority applications have been received. Waiting lists will be maintained when classes are full.

Are teachers CPR and first aid trained?

Yes, and recertified annually.

What additional measures will the school be taking vis-à-vis the pandemic?

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Friendship Preschool will open for the 2021-22 school year with increased health and safety measures. Friendship is in compliance with the regulations issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Social Services, and the Fairfax County Health Department and will be following guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control.

Additional measures, including enhanced cleaning protocols, social distancing, outdoor pick-up and drop-off, and increased health monitoring, will be utilized to make our happy school as safe and healthy as possible.

Friendship Preschool is licensed by the state of Virginia as a child day center. As such, it is inspected twice annually by a state inspector. It is also permitted and inspected annually by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and holds a Residential Use Permit issued subject to the requirements of the County of Fairfax.
