Taking the Next Faithful Step
"For we walk by faith, not by sight" - 2 Corinthians 5:7
Giving Campaign 2025
October 30, 2024
Dear Friends,
As we reflect on the past year, I am grateful for all that we have accomplished together at Friendship United Methodist Church. With the help and participation of our church community, we have been able to connect with our community, grow in worship participation, improve our livestream capabilities, and expand our ministries of compassion. The Spirit is doing mighty things at Friendship.
Now, it is time to look forward!
This year’s annual giving theme, Taking the Next Faithful Step, is inspired by many biblical stories of God’s people from Abraham and Moses to Jesus and his disciples, all of whom felt God calling them to take a step of faith. Here at Friendship Church, we are taking the next faithful steps as a community. In the coming year, we hope to expand our ministry staff, develop ministries for new people, and make improvements to our church facilities.
But we need your help.
Many folks here at Friendship choose to make an annual financial pledge. Some members tithe, committing ten percent of their income to the missions of our church. Others give proportionally by committing a certain percentage. Still others give as they are able. What is most important is that everyone takes the next faithful step and supports the church in the form of a financial pledge.
Please prayerfully consider how you will contribute.
Included with this letter is a pledge card for 2025. As we begin this year’s annual giving campaign, I hope you will consider making a pledge so that Friendship can continue its work of following Jesus and sharing his love with others. Together, we can have a significant impact on our community.
Your pledge card can be returned by any of the following: (a) through the offering plate, (b) mailed to the church, or (c) dropped by the church office. Pledge Sunday is November 24, but you may turn in your card anytime between now and then. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
In Christ,
Rev. James E. Harrington
